H E L L O
I’ve always had an interest in food and cooking. From as far back as I can remember, I was in the kitchen learning from my mom as she prepared meals and baked goods for our family. It wasn’t until high school, however, when I experienced things like gut health issues, disordered thinking about health and fitness, and food intolerances that I really discovered my passion for food and the impact it can have on overall wellness.
I am now studying nutrition as my major at Texas A&M University. I have learned so much from my classes, and my personal pursuit of nutrition and fitness, that I wanted to create a space to share what I know. My hope is that in sharing my experiences and knowledge, this blog can be a tool and source of inspiration for people wanting to lead healthier, nourishing lives.
WHY ENP ?
When thinking of what to call this blog, I started with a list of my passions that I wanted to be represented in this site. The main topics that came to mind were food, cooking, physical health, true nourishment, and faith in Jesus Christ. The words eat, nourish, and play are a combination of these topics in one phrase.
EAT
We all have to eat. Learning the power that food carries and how to eat for your specific needs is crucial to feeling the best you can. This is why my page will contain recipes and tips to get as many nutrients in as possible.
NOURISH
The word nourish holds meaning beyond just being full, and has applications beyond being nourished nutritionally. Nourish means to develop, to nurture, and to provide what is needed for life, health, and growth. I believe true nourishment encompasses our physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual health.
PLAY
The Bible calls us to live like children and rejoice in this life we’ve been given. It calls us to trust in our Lord in a way that allows us to let down our walls and live life recklessly for the Kingdom. By pouring into your physical and spiritual health, the hope is that you will begin to experience the feeling of walking in the freedom you’ve been called to.
